Claims Pd Manager
 

This position will manage a team and processes for your assigned claims area(s) of responsibility. You will oversee and ensure the fair, ethical and timely management of first- and third-party personal automobile claims for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.  You will report to the Claims Director.
 

Position Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises internal property Claims Examiner staff through entire claims operations; effectively and efficiently manages independent adjusters, experts, and vendors.

  • Reviews all new losses assigned to the Claim Examiner and provides technical direction and ongoing guidance.

  • Manages an effective diary system to assure that all claims are handled timely and appropriately.

  • Assists with hiring and training, and coaches and mentor’s unit personnel; responsible for performance evaluations of direct reports.

  • Formulates recommendations regarding claims policies and procedures.

  • Completes regular quality audits of assigned area(s) of responsibility claim/team members' work; records results and counsels’ staff to bring work to or above standards.

  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite     

  • Performs other duties as required.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or minimum seven years total related experience, 1-3 of which must be management experience in property claims.

  • Adjusters License for states in which the Company conducts business.

  • Fluent in Spanish preferred.

  • Proficient with MS Office a plus

  • Problem solving- proactively finding solutions to difficult or complex issues.

  • Communication- strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to many different personalities.

  • Work ethic- demonstrate good attitude and judgment, discretion, and maintain high level of confidentiality.

  • Learning- commitment to continued training and learning to keep up with new industry and company changes.

  • Strong teamwork skills; ability to work cooperatively and jointly with various staff members
