Claims Adjuster
Position Responsibilities

Investigates and manages personal automobile first and third-party claims.

Reports directly to Team Manager.

Deliver a customer-focused claims experience.

Investigate single and multi-vehicle auto accidents using innovative tools and technology to capture recorded statements, photos and/or the review of police reports to resolve losses.

Document claims through active listening and use of data to summarize liability decisions.

Communicate compassionately with customers and help them through their claim Negotiates and conveys claim settlements within authority limits.

Writes denial letters, Reservation of Rights and other complex correspondence.

Maintains diary system, capturing all required data and documents claim file activities in accordance with established claims handling standards.

Manages file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.

Handles files in compliance with state regulations, where applicable.

Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.

Detailed oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties.

Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite

Recognizes when to refer claims to Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.

Performs other duties as needed.
