Claims Adjuster

Position Responsibilities

  • Investigates and manages personal automobile first and third-party claims.

  • Reports directly to Team Manager.

  • Deliver a customer-focused claims experience.

  • Investigate single and multi-vehicle auto accidents using innovative tools and technology to capture recorded statements, photos and/or the review of police reports to resolve losses.

  • Document claims through active listening and use of data to summarize liability decisions.

  • Communicate compassionately with customers and help them through their claim Negotiates and conveys claim settlements within authority limits.

  • Writes denial letters, Reservation of Rights and other complex correspondence.

  • Maintains diary system, capturing all required data and documents claim file activities in accordance with established claims handling standards.

  • Manages file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.

  • Handles files in compliance with state regulations, where applicable.

  • Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.

  • Detailed oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties.

  • Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite     

  • Recognizes when to refer claims to Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.

  • Performs other duties as needed.
